Istituto Politecnico Keplero has been training Opticians and Optometrists since 1977 providing a high quality educational programme, which guarantees a job almost at the 100%, in the short period.
The optometry course is a good continuation of the optics course and aims at specialising the professional in the optometric field according to the current regulations.
Licence certificate for practising the Optician auxiliary health profession.
The Academic Year starts in October and ends in July; the candidate must pass all the exams and present a dissertation. For all students who also work or have specific needs there is a Customised Didactic Programme.
Lessons will take place at the operative headquarters of Istituto Politecnico Keplero in Termoli (CB), in Via Tremiti, 5.
Specialisation Licence for Opticians in Optometry.
The title has validity in all Italy and in all EU countries; it is valid also in all non-EU countries where there is a mutual validity for the same licence.
Lessons are divided into lectures and practice:
- EYE PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND PHARMACOLOGY;
- LOW VISION;
- GEOMETRIC OPTICS LAB;
- OPTOMETRIC LAB 1;
- OPTOMETRIC LAB 2;
- EYE EXAM PROCEDURE;
- VISION PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGY;
- OPTOMETRY STATISTICS;
- OPTOMETRY PHYSICAL TECHNIQUES;
- BINOCULAR VISION;
- Basic knowledges in optometry and eye pathophysiology;
- Abilities in using optometric and scientific instruments;
- Practical abilities for practicing as optometrist;
- A scientific method to face and solve problems within the eye refractive.
Written, oral or practical tests will be done in all the subjects of the course.
Teachers are professionals with many years of experience in this course.
RECOGNITION OF TRAINING CREDITS
Reduction of the attendance hours based on the recognition of training credits assigned at admission test and based on knowledges/abilities previously certified through oral, written or practical exams.
Foreign students should have a good knowledge of Italian (level A2) that will be reinforced through additional lessons.
